“Richard Associates Art Appraisals did an appraisal for my family’s art collection in 2021. Aarin Richard was knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. We received a very detailed appraisal report which was exactly what we needed to help with our estate planning. Native American Art Appraisals Santa Fe NM

Richard Associates Art Appraisals specializes in two broad areas: Historic Native American art and late Modern & Contemporary paintings. Our focus on American Indian art appraisals is of the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries from across America. Regions include the Great Plains, Southwest, Plateau, Basin, Eastern Woodlands and Northwest Coast. We appraise items such as Navajo & Pueblo blankets, beaded items, pottery, kachina figures, painted hide objects, basketry and jewelry.

Paintings from the late Modern & Contemporary periods, from the early 20th century to current artworks of today, are also items we appraise. Valuations are based on numerous factors that need to be analyzed during the appraisal process. The artist, medium, period, style and provenance are just a few things to be considered. Modern & Contemporary paintings, by both well-known and unknown artists, can be highly sought by collectors. Many movements rose out of these periods including Cubism, Dada, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art and Minimalism. Artwork of the Southwest, created in New Mexico by artists in groups such as the Taos Society of Artists, Los Cinco Pintores, the Taos Moderns and the Transcendental Painting Group are examples of regional art that had a global impact.
